Sabia and Verona is a South American micronation, an unrecognized self-declared sovereign state. It was founded in 2012. Our claimed territory consists chiefly of patches of land surrounded by the South American nations of Argentina and Venezuela.

A plushie-loving micronation

The raison d'être of Sabia and Verona lies in its soft, squishy heart: the people. Plush toys are not only recognized as citizens and granted rights by the Sabioveronese Constitution; plushies take the center stage in the society, culture and governnance of Sabia and Verona.

A scion of Latin America

Both of Sabia and Verona's territorial clusters are bordered by large urban areas where hundreds of thousands of non-Valtirians live, many completely unaware of Sabia and Verona's existence.

A nation in green

The Batunoi Marshes in Doga Runann Natural Reserve make up over 70% of Sabia and Verona's territory. The Sabioveronese Government is committed to protecting these biodiverse zones that act as a natural lung to over 3 million people in the Río de la Plata conurbation.

A cozy little kingdom

A large portion of Sabia and Verona's green areas are public spaces. Although the Sabioveronese state claims sovereignty over these territories, entrance and passage is not regulated and allowed to all those who happen to pass by. Sabia and Verona maintains a policy of open borders with all its neighbors.

A biodiverse haven

A Southern lapwing (Vanellus chilensis) in Doga Runann Nature Reserve. The reserve is home to hundreds of animal and plant species, and serves as temporary refuge to thousand other animal species. Lapwings, locally known as teros, are one of the most emblematic fixtures of Doga Runann.

A land of contrasts

The breathtaking sights of the tropical Northern Territories, bordered on every side by the Andes mountains, greatly differ from the flat marshlands of the deep South.

The current government

The current Government of Sabia and Verona is led by Prime Minister Apollo Cerwyn of the Democratic Party. It has been in office since May 2019, when it was appointed by HPM King Tarik.
