F.A.Q.

This all sounds very weird. Why was this created?

The main drive behind the creation of Sabia and Verona is fun. Fun and happiness are important values for the people of the Kingdom, and we believe it's important to stand by this.

Why stuffed toys?

When Sabia and Verona was first created, it was not an "independent" micronation, but rather, it was an overseas territory of another micronation, the Kingdom of Juclandia. The tradition of having stuffed toys or plushies as citizens of a micronation was started by the Juclandians (the name "Juclandia" means "Country of Toys" in Romanian, the language spoken by its founders). It was only natural Sabia and Verona embraced this tradition as its own. Juclandia and Sabia and Verona became separate entities in 2014, but they remain part of the Federal Union of Juclandian Lands, a supranational body a la EU with the aim of maintaining this historic and cultural bond between the two micronations.

Besides, stuffed toys are cuddly and so much fun!

Can my micronation have diplomacy with Sabia and Verona?

The Kingdom of Sabia and Verona is open to all sorts of friendship with other micronations. Diplomacy is welcome with all nations that respect the ideals of human rights, freedom of speech, religion and social equality. Diplomacy requests may be sent to government.siv@gmail.com.

Can I become a citizen of Sabia and Verona?

Sadly, citizenship of Sabia and Verona is restricted to those living within its borders and a few select people who have helped the Government of the Kingdom in the development of our nation. You can, however, apply to become a subject of the Valtirian Monarchy. This means you will not be able to vote in general elections or run for office in the Kingdom, but you will be able to say "I'm Sabioveronese!", which is still pretty cool.

I've got a teddy bear! Can I make my own stuffed toy country too?

In general, we consider stuffed toy micronational citizenship to be an inseparable part of the Juclandian-Sabioveronese culture and heritage. We do not by any means own this idea, and you are completely free to create your own stuffed toy micronation if you want. We wouldn't like it too much, though. It's kind of our thing, you know?
